Introducing Petre Thomas

Its every high school athletes worst fear to be injured and forced to watch their team from the sidelines, but rather than wallow in sorrow, Petre Thomas made some life changing adjustments.

After playing a significant role as right tackle for his Kansas high school, Thomas couldn't bare to just sit on the sidelines."I still wanted to be apart of the football team, that's all I wanted.", were the sentiments of Thomas, when he found out he had a torn ACL. That's when he decided to pick up the camera. "I started taking pictures for my school newspaper, along with the Kansas City Star, covering football games," Thomas recanted. "That gave me an opportunity to be around my team mates and practice a new found hobby." Little did Thomas know that a love for his new found hobby would bring him to Ole Miss.

After moving to Mississippi, Thomas attended community college at Itawamba Community College where he was a member of the newspaper staff.Several football games, and thousands of snapshots later, Petre Thomas is now a Journalism major at the Univeristy of Mississippi. Even though Thomas' household consists of mostly Mississippi State fans, he primarily chose Ole Miss, because of the "remarkable journalism program."
