“Best of BIG D”

Hattie Wheeler, a young college student, has her mind set on working for one particular magazine and will not stop until her goal is met.

Wheeler, a sophomore at the University of Mississippi is striving for a degree in Business Marketing Communications but won’t stop there. Her goal is to be the best of Big D within seven years of college graduation. Landing an advertising job for her dream magazine, D Magazine in Dallas, TX, will hopefully be her landing spot after a college degree. Wheeler was raised in Dallas and sparked an interest in the magazine business when she discovered a like for fashion.

“I have always been interested in fashion, but not the competitive side of it,” Wheeler said.

She has an undying interest in the business side of fashion and how it is advertised to magazine readers. Advertisements are the soul reason that fashion designers, labels, and hip styles become popular and well known to the general public. Wheeler is also looking forward to connecting with people around Dallas about issues that would make an interesting story to the readers of “D.”

“I was looking for a magazine that covered many different topics,” she said. “When I first read the best of big D Magazine I connected with it.”

D Magazine is Dallas’s guide to restaurants, nightlife, shopping, politics, and culture. This magazine has many branch magazines including D Home, D Wedding, and D Chocolate. Readers are able to subscribe to magazines that spark their interests or visit the D’s website.

“The D covers everything from upcoming events, restaurant reviews, the best bars in the city, and even displays party pics,” Wheeler said.
