Pill Problems

Amphetamine abuse has been a big problem in the United States for many years now and it had ruined many families lives; a 20-year-old Journalism student at Ole Miss tells me life was hard growing up in his neighborhood in Atlanta, GA on account of it being a pill hotspot; apparently he was stuck around a cesspool of amphetamine feinds. Surprisingly this all took place in a wealthy neighborhood, this shows that drugs abuse doesn’t only take place in the slums of town, but also by respected people of the community. Mike had to sit by and watch day after day as his childhood friends threw their lives away by becoming addicted to pills. When Mike was 18 years old; a senior in high school, his best friend Craig’s big brother Shane got deep into prescription drugs. Mike immediately was concerned for Shane’s safety, because he didn’t want him to ruin his life like all the others. Shane blocked Mike and Craig out and his addiction grew worst. Shane’s parents got involved at this point and sent him to a rehabilitation center. Shane attended the rehab center for 3 months; when he arrived back he seemed like a new man. After a week of being home Shane went to a party at his friends house and was offered something he had never tried before, OxyCotin an opioid drug. OxyCotin numbs the pain perception center in the brain. It also affects the respiratory and circulatory systems at higher doses. Shane knew he shouldn’t take the drug but he didn’t want to stand out from his friends, so he took some. The night went by and the next morning Shane’s buddy tried waking him up but he was unresponsive. The friend then noticed that Shane had thrown up during the night on account of the Oxy and choked on his own vomit and died of an overdose. Shane’s parents and the paramedics were called and his body was sent to the morgue. This shows you that pill abuse is no joke, and even a little can kill you. This problem is getting worst worldwide everyday and needs to stop.
