The Chemistry and Biochemistry department's own Dr. James Cizdziel's work was chosen to be on the cover of the February issue of Analytical Methods, a publishing journal.
This month Dr. James Cizdziel had his work displayed on the cover of Analytical Methods, an achievement that he was glad to have.
"We were elated. It's nice to be featured on the cover and be acknowledged in that way" said Cizdziel.
Analytical Methods is a publishing journal that is based out of Ireland. It displays the work of researchers, such as Cizdziel, when it seems promising. Cizdziel's research examined a new approach for quantifying the distribution of many elements in plant leaves.According to Cizdziel his research may never end.
"Research is an ongoing process" Cizdziel continued. "When you carry out an experiment it often opens doors you don't expect."
Cizdziel credits his success to the National Science Foundation for granting the use of an instrument called an Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer. Cizdziel was also accompanied by a student, Koaxin Bu.
Analytical Method can be ordered online at www.rsc.org.
